Problems of Agriculture in Angola

Learn the major hurdles in the pathway to agricultural success in Angola. Read here and identify those problems to solve them.
Angola is an African country with great potential to become one of the finest agricultural economies in Africa and the world. But like any other country, Angola has also faced and is facing some of the most difficult obstacles that are obstructing their path to development. Every country has its own set of problems when in it comes to farming; Angola is no exception. Below are stated some of the most environmentally and humanly dangerous problems that are faced by Angolans.

War-torn Country

War has to be put on top of the list because it is due to the war initially that the Angolans were left behind. War has caused massive losses in terms of property and people but the agriculture of the country was also badly damaged. A lot of the fields were wiped out during the war, some farmers fled away leaving their fields unattended thus great losses were suffered by farmers. Crucial machinery like tractors were also destroyed causing serious lack of technology in Agriculture.

Traditional Farming

Most Angolan farmers have this tendency to stick to their traditional methods of practicing farming and are unwilling to move to more modern techniques that have surfaced as a result of research and development. Efforts are being made to rid the country of this mindset.

Environmental Problems

Angolans face some tough challenges in their environment too. These are because of the climatic changes around the globe which are having adverse effects on agriculture as a whole. Apart from this, Global warming has also been known to change patterns of rainfall in the country as well. There are still people who slash and burn forests for acquiring land for agriculture; this is having a devastating effect on farming.

Problems that are faced by Angola are the ones which have been faced by many other countries in history. It is hoped that Angola will rise to its problems soon.
